Knowledge Base (FAQ’s)

Tusa’s Knowledge Base Management System enables correctional facilities to compose and publish general information for inmates. Authorized staff manage the knowledge base by structuring content and controlling access. This enables staff to publish and review general information such as facility rules and regulations, what is available in the facility (e.g. phone service, education opportunities) and news and events bulletins. The Knowledge Base can also be used to publish answers to inmates’ frequently asked questions (FAQs).

My Details

Allowing inmates to seek out their personal status information independently. Using the kiosks inmates log on to find the answers to common questions, as determined by the facility. This reduces inmates reliance on staff to frequently answer these questions freeing their time for other activities.

Case Management Planning Tool

Tusa’s Case Management Planning Tool enables facility, support staff and inmates to work together to define personalized program and behavioral goals and to identify the activities necessary to achieve those goals. Inmates can view their personal plan and progress via the kiosk. It is a configurable planning tool that can be customized to suit a range of applications e.g. classification, program and reentry plans.

Law Library

Access to law library information can be expensive for facilities to provide and maintain.  It can also be very time consuming for inmates searching through legal journals.  Through a third party integration, this module provides access to an electronic library, eliminating the need to invest in costly and highly vulnerable books, while providing inmates with instant access to the information they need through a secure environment.

Providing inmate access to an electronic library through a third party eliminates the facility’s requirement to invest in costly books, while providing inmates with instant access to securely access the information they need. Additionally, the elimination or reduction of hard copies reduces the potential for inmates to conceal weapons, drugs, and other contraband within the books.
